Cookie notice of FantaGamesHub
Draft awaiting review by a licensed lawyer. Version 0.1.
A cookie is a small file a website can save on your device while you visit it, to remember something about you on your next visit. Some technologies do a similar job without using a cookie in the strict sense (for example the browser's local storage): on this page we treat them together, because from your point of view they matter in the same way.
Part A — How it works today
Today FantaGamesHub does not set any cookie, or any equivalent technology, unless you explicitly decide to. There's no account, no sign-in, no preference to remember between visits: the pages you are visiting are public, the same for everyone.
The one exception, and it's by design rather than an oversight, concerns statistical measurement.
A.1 Google Analytics 4: present in the code, off until you consent
The site contains the code needed to use Google Analytics 4 to find out, in aggregate form, how many people visit the site and which pages they look at. This code does not turn itself on: it stays dormant until you explicitly enable it, from the cookie management panel you find on this page and in the footer of every screen.
If you do nothing, or if you decline: measurement stays off. The site never contacts Google, never sets any measurement cookie on your device, never transmits any information about you. The site works exactly the same in every respect: declining measurement doesn't remove or limit anything you can see or do on this site today.
If you consent: the site loads the Google Analytics 4 script and sets one or more cookies on your device (typically with names starting with «_ga»), which let it recognize you on later visits in aggregate, non-named form. The information collected includes pages visited, time spent, approximate origin (country/region, not your exact address), device and browser type. Google retains this data for roughly up to 14 months, unless configured otherwise, which will be reflected on this page if it changes.
| Category | Technology | Necessary for the site to work | Requires your consent | What happens if you decline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Statistical measurement | Google Analytics 4 (“_ga” and similar cookies, googletagmanager.com script) | No | Yes | Nothing: the site works exactly the same, we simply don't measure your visit |
There are no other categories to list, today. We don't use profiling cookies, we don't use advertising or third-party cookies other than the one described above, we don't use tracking pixels, we don't use fingerprinting techniques. If this list changes, this page will change too, with a new update date at the bottom.
A.2 How to change your mind
You can withdraw your consent to statistical measurement at any time, by returning to the cookie panel — reachable from the footer of every screen — or by clearing this site's cookies from your browser settings. Withdrawal takes effect immediately: as soon as you record it, the site stops measuring and deletes from your device the measurement cookies already set.
Part B — Once the product features are live
This part describes technologies that don't exist in the site yet: none of the items listed below exist today in the code. They will be moved into Part A, one at a time, as each feature actually goes into production — not before.
Once account creation becomes possible, the site will need to remember that you're signed in, show you the app even without a connection during a live event, and remember your preferences between visits. To do this we'll use a few technically necessary storage technologies, which don't require consent because they don't profile you or advertise to you — they simply make the service you asked for work.
| Technology | What it's for | Requires consent |
|---|---|---|
| Cookie or dedicated storage for session access and refresh tokens | Keeping you signed in to your account without re-entering your email and password on every page | No — technically necessary |
| Browser local storage for application state | Remembering, for example, a filter you set or a form you're filling out, without losing it if you reload the page | No — technically necessary |
| Offline cache for an event's rules, teams and leaderboard | Letting you check an event even without a connection, and syncing once the connection returns | No — technically necessary |
| Language preference cookie | Showing you the app in Italian or English without asking you every time | No — technically necessary |
| Cookies set by Stripe's checkout page during Credit purchases | Necessary for Stripe to process the payment securely on the checkout page they manage directly | No — necessary to carry out the payment you requested |
None of these technologies will be used to profile you for advertising purposes or to track you across sites other than FantaGamesHub. If we ever decide to introduce tools of that kind, we'll update this page and ask for your explicit consent before turning them on, with the option to decline without losing access to the service's essential features.
Frequently asked questions
If I decline everything, can I still use the site?
Yes, today with no limitation whatsoever. Once an account exists, you'll still be able to use the service's essential features without accepting non-necessary cookies: only statistical measurement remains optional.
Where do I find the panel to change my choice?
In the footer of every screen, with the «Cookie preferences» link: it opens at any time, not only on your first visit.
Who do you share measurement data with, if I consent?
Only with Google, the provider of the Google Analytics 4 tool, under the terms described in our privacy policy.
